Benicar Settlement Update
Sometimes prescription drugs do more harm than good. There are some good drugs out there; however, it’s unfortunate that we’re constantly misled by drug companies that fail to take personal responsibility when their products injure someone.
Recently, a $300 million settlement was announced in the Benicar litigation. Benicar is a drug prescribed to lower blood pressure associated with hypertension. It’s linked to severe gastrointestinal (GI) injuries, including a rare condition called sprue-like enteropathy (SLE). The condition produces symptoms similar to celiac disease.
Patients suffering from Benicar side effects may experience chronic diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, kidney failure, and significant weight loss. Benicar has been prescribed since 2003.
If you experienced some of the above side effects, you may be able to file a claim and be paid through the settlement. The settlement amounts vary based on the injury.
There are strict deadlines in place for filing claims. If you have any questions, or think you or someone you know may have a potential case, please contact us at 662-728-9733 to discuss it further. You can also visit us on the web at www.langstonlott.com. There is an initial deadline of August 23, 2017.
