A May 2012 graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College, and native of Prentiss County, Jessa Kate Christian, “Katie,” received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University in May of 2014.

In May of 2017, Katie received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law.  After passing the July 2017 Mississippi Bar Exam, Katie was admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts of Mississippi and in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

During her tenure at Mississippi College School of Law, Katie was elected Casenote/Comment Editor of the Law Review, served as a Dean’s Ambassador for the Administration Office, and volunteered at Mission First Legal Aid.  As well as being a full-time student and active participant in various school organizations, Katie also worked two years as a part time Law Clerk for a plaintiff’s firm in Jackson, Mississippi gaining invaluable, practical experience in the legal field.

In April of 2016, Katie received the Bradley Arant Boult Cummings Law Review Publication Award for her article, “It’s Not My Fault!”: Inequality Between Posthumously Conceived Children and Why Limiting the Degree of Benefits to Innocent Babies is a “No-No!” 36 Miss. C. L. Rev. 1, 194 (2017).  She also received the Best Paper Award in Legal Writing II and a scholarship for participating in the 2016 Evelyn Gandy Lecture series.

Since joining Langston & Lott in September of 2017, Katie has been active in civil litigation.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, Mississippi Young Lawyers Division, and Mississippi Women Lawyers Association.
