What's Wrong With Lipitor

Lipitor is the brand name for the drug Atorvastatin. Lipitor is a drug designed to reduce cholesterol. It’s been on the market since 1996. Pfizer sales for Lipitor are the largest total drug sales in the US in total approximately $100 billion over the last 15 years or so. Pfizer marketed Lipitor "off label" and encouraged physicians to prescribe it for those who had very little risk of heart disease or cholesterol problems. It was also marketed as a "preventative" drug.
